European academic meeting a great success

My recent trip to Barcelona was a serious eye-opener in terms of size of international meetings. With 9000 delegates from all over Europe and the rest of the world, there were so many lectures and didactic sessions to choose from that I felt like splitting myself in two to be in different venues at the same time!

The knowledge gained has been invaluable, the size of the trade mind-blowing, and a number of new colleagues and friends made from all over the world.

Of course my European tour would not have been complete without hopping over to Dublin again to spend time with the wizard of laser vision corrective surgery or lasik, Mr Arthur Cummings. What a wonderful academic time away.

On the way back, through Paris, I had to satiate my appetite for the Tour De France by walking the Champs and doing a circuit around the Arc de Triomphe…All boxes ticked! (Including the fact that my wife could travel with me!)

Looking forward to bringing this knowledge back to Plett and Knysna!
